Services Performed
  • Attempted to check PCM codes but the scan tool could not communicate with the PCM. Found the PCM power relay not getting ground so PCM cannot power up. Need more time for further diagnosis.
  • Removed battery junction box and split open the wiring harness from the junction box to where the harness bends to go under the radiator on the driver side of the vehicle, no break in the wire was found. Split the harness from the PCM connector to where the harness bends to go under the radiator on the passenger side of the vehicle, no break in the wire was found there either. Customer did not proceed any further with diagnosis, we overlay a new wire over the harness.
  • Cut PCM relay control wire at the PCM and in the harness on the driver side near the junction at the radiator and spliced in a new wire. Routed the new wire along the original harness. Verified vehicle now starts and runs.
  • Checked the A/C system and found the charge level was low. Leak test passed. Filled A/C system and found the compressor clutch engaged but the compressor would not build pressure. Recommend replacing the A/C compressor. Also found the belt tensioner making noise, recommend replacing.
